Yankees Pitcher Dies While Leading Terrorist Attack

Ah, not really. But NPR felt compelled to have its news reader clarify that a terrorist link was initially suspected, and then how after some debate it was generally felt that the unfortunate Cory Lidle and his passenger were not active members of Al-Qaeda. An alternative conspiracy theory that Yankees owner George Steinbrenner sabotaged the plane's fuel tank after his team's early playoff defeat against the Detroit Tigers is quickly gaining currency.
