Norah Jones: Sunrise, Sunrise
Another nice night with guests. Lord Running Boy met an older girl named Anja, older by a whole six months, whose super-smart parents hail from Rumania and Punjab and work for a D.C. think tank and Microsoft, respectively. There was screaming, running naked, Lillet on ice, eventual lasagna, and baths in the Jacuzzi tub. We didn't actually play any Norah Jones, we played Amy Winehouse and Regina Spektor, but if I'd thought of it, we would have played this song by Norah Jones, a simple song which might endure for quite some time:
Sunrise, Sunrise
Looks like morning in your eyes
But the clock's held 9:15 for hours
Sunrise, Sunrise
Couldn't tempt us if it tried
Cuz the afternoon's already come and gone
And I said
Hooo, hooo, hooo
Hooo, hooo, hooo
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you!
Surprise, Surprise
Couldn't find it in your eyes
But I'm sure it's written all over my face
Surprise, Surprise
Never something I could hide
When I see we made it through another day
Then I say
Hooo, hooo, hooo
Hooo, hooo, hooo
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you!
And now, the night
Will throw its cover down, mmm, on me again
Ooo, and if I'm right
It's the only way to bring me back
Hooo, hooo, hooo, hooo,,
Hooo, hooo, hooo, hooo,
Hooo, hooo, hooo, hooo
To you
Hooo, hooo, yeah, ye-ah
To you!
