How I Got Through Childhood

1958, the year this ad came out, was a good year. Goood year. Gosh how I miss my Nembutal Elixir! Looks like the lucky kid in the poster got a double dose.

Hey, I was a kid in the 50's, and we never got anything like this stuff - oh, expcet for Cheracol cough syrup, with codeine...mmmm.
That is a spooky illustration. I found out that Nembutal is used for anti-seizure treatment, insomnia, anxiety, and can be used as a hypnotic, whatver good that would be.

Cheracol. Mmmm. Haven't thought of that in ages, but I can taste it right now.

Seriously, Iz, I just came across the Nembutol poster and thought it was too funny...I have given people that drug as part of a summer job (association for retarded children, anti-seizure), and the poster catches those saucer-eyes really well. Not sure if it worked with seizures, but it sure as hell would be hard to be rambunctious on it!
